Without watching it, I'm not imagining a scenario where it makes sense


The individual wires within a CAT5 cable are already twisted pairs to cut down on interference. So doing any kind of additional winding is redundant. And the current running through them is so low that running a loop of CAT5 wire isn't going to generate any kind of induction field of consequence.

I'm no EE, but from what electrical theory I remember, reducing interference and creating induction fields are the only reasons to wind one wire around another.
